When trauma survivors take courageous action to heal, they begin to feel empowered, not a victim, and like a self-love Warrior.
Whether you have experienced a harrowing single life event, aversion events, or survived chronic abuse or neglect, you may be experiencing:
- Disconnection from the Self. Disconnection from the body. Disconnection from others.
- Distressing thoughts, memories, nightmares, flashbacks, or trauma triggers.
- Overwhelming emotions, such as, anxiety, fear, panic, depression, irritability, or anger.
- Difficulty forming intimate relationships, or feeling detached from others.
- Difficulty focusing, concentrating, working, playing, and creating.
- Adrenaline surges, body aches/pains, and frequent physical illnesses.
Psychology researchers have known for decades that survivors of childhood trauma, accidents, disasters, neglectful and abusive relationships etc., often endure life-long symptoms ranging from anxiety and depression to unexplained physical aches and pain, and harmful acting out behaviors. According to the National Institute of Health (NIH) more than 23 million Americans suffer from anxiety disorders—many as a direct result of trauma.
We store the energy of trauma in the body leading to unexplained physical problems, emotional issues, and psychological blockages. Memories of traumatic experiences are stored on an instinctual survival level in the body, brain, and mind (conscious and subconscious levels).
Whatever the trauma is it has a common effect on our physiology leaving a feeling of overwhelm, unable to process what happened, and frozen to some degree. However, it does not have to hurt forever. Psychology has empirically demonstrated that humans are born with an ability to rebound from distressing situations and traumatic events. On healing trauma–there are talking psychotherapy modalities, but a deep physiological process for releasing past trauma(s) imprinted in the bio fields of the body and brain are also needed.
Trauma therapy can help you heal, thrive, and move forward. It is the Heroic Journey. I will help you heal from the harmful assault that trauma can have on your brain, mind, cognition, emotions, body, and your relationship with yourself, and with others.
We provide a safe, accepting, non-judgmental space for you to share your story without fear or shame. You do not have to relive or even consciously remember a trauma event to heal from it. We can access those memories through “felt sense” or language of your inner body experiences. Trauma-sensitive practices will also help you reconnect with the part of you that is whole and unharmed. We can begin to discharge or unfreeze the instinctual physiological survival energies that did not have a chance to be used at the time of the traumatic event(s). We can also work on the re-hardwiring of the body and brain’s responses.
Together, we will unveil your strengths and resilience that helped you survive, clear the path for powerful healing transformation, and Let Go.
